Walt Disney World Ends Discounted Pre-Arrival MagicBand+ Offer for Hotel Guests & Annual Passholders

|

Along with a flurry of price hikes today, Walt Disney World has seemingly ended the MagicBand+ discounted pricing offered to hotel guests. Wording on the Walt Disney World website has been updated to remove “specialty pricing” for Walt Disney World hotel guests and Annual Passholders. Here’s the latest.

Disney World Ends MagicBand+ Discounts

Effective immediately, Walt Disney World has removed discounted pricing on the MagicBand+ wearable for resort hotel guests and Annual Passholders. The MagicBand+ webpage was updated recently to remove mention of the special pre-arrival pricing.

As you may remember, Walt Disney World used to offer free MagicBand’s to resort hotel guests and Annual Passholders. Of course, Disney did away with that perk in early 2021, but they have been offering discounted rates on select MagicBand+ wearables for a while.

As a goodwill gesture, Disney offered dozens of MagicBand+ designs at a discounted rate. Typically, the discount would be somewhere in the $10 range, lowering the price of a MagicBand+ to as low as $24.99.

Now, that discount is nowhere to be found.

Our favorite option to use is the MagicMobile offering, which links our park tickets (Annual Passes) to our watch and phone. That allows us to tap the watch like a MagicBand at park entry and other points of contact, like on-ride photo readers.

  1. Thank you Disney.
Keep on providing me more reasons to take my theme park dollars elsewhere. You’re on a roll since Covid. Oh also,
Universal, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens thank you as well. I upgraded both annual passes to the top tier and still wasn’t more than a Disney pass, with Florida Resident “discount” which itself has become a joke more than an incentive.

  2. Yup, I’ve used my watch exclusively for years. The magic band didn’t have much utility that my watch or phone didn’t. I imagine they’ll discontinue them at some point.

  3. Watch Josh D’Amaro alert this and denounce all of this when he becomes CEO of the company next year (alongside the permanent cancellation of all further live action remakes to their animated films), even if they won’t agree with them

  4. Thanks Bob Iger and investors , you all suck, I hope Walt and Roy can see that you ruined their dream, price hikes, take perks away and now this, greed be damned, I hope you all lose your precious money because people will stop going to the parks and it’s already starting to happen, I’m a big Disney fan and I think we all should boycott Disney because of their greed

  5. I used to LOVE going to Disney world. It was just such a unique and amazing experience! Now it all feels like a big money grab. I have a trip booked, but with the price hikes and all the perks slowly disappearing, I’m really considering cancelling. It’s already costing like $13k and I’m just not sure it’s worth that.

There used to be so much more you’d get like the magical Express, the luggage transfer, free magicbands, free ship to resort for purchases, daily cleaning with daily magic, free fast passes, etc.,.

  6. This latest price hike has made the average family looking on the outside to plan a trip to WDW.. The perks are slowly eroding away food prices, parking , tickets , lodging even the specials they have isn’t enough for savings .. I wanted to go back in the near future when all the new attractions are completed in the next few years however my expectations have been crushed as the Magic is not there anymore … Only the ultra rich can have a Magical Day!
