Disneyland to End Sales of MagicBand+

The Disneyland Resort will soon stop selling the MagicBand+ product. Reporter Scott Gustin was the first to suggest that the resort will sell through its current supply of product with no plans to restock. BlogMickey.com has been able to independently confirm that the Disneyland Resort will stop selling the product. Here’s what we know.

Disneyland to Stop Selling MagicBand+

After first debuting at Walt Disney World in July 2022, the MagicBand+ product made its way to the West Coast for a Disneyland debut in October 2022.

The original MagicBand was introduced in 2013 at Walt Disney World, making the guest experience in the theme parks and resorts more convenient and hands-free for things like park and guest room entry, retail and dining, Disney PhotoPass, and more.

MagicBand+ retained those popular features and added functionality that unlocked new moments of magic. Here’s a look at how MagicBand+ stacked up against the original MagicBand, as well as the MagicMobile offering.

At the Disneyland Resort, the MagicBand+ allows for hands-free access to the theme parks and check-in at Lightning Lane attractions. MagicBand+ also allows for enhanced experiences at select shows and experiences such as World of Color, Fantasmic! and other select nighttime spectaculars.

Just like at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland can partake in a bounty hunt experience, merging physical and digital experiences as you find virtual bounties throughout the land.

Now, Disneyland officials have confirmed that the Disneyland Resort is in the process of sunsetting on-property sales of the MagicBand+. We’re not sure how long that will take. In the meantime, guests can find places to purchase MagicBand+ by searching for the product in the Disneyland app.

Guests will continue to be able to purchase MagicBand+ online at DisneyStore.com.

The end of on-property sales doesn’t mean that the MagicBand+ functionality is disappearing, though. Key capabilities of the MagicBand+ wearable will continue to function at Disneyland, including interactive experiences such as Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters and shows like World of Color, Fantasmic! and other nighttime spectaculars.

In addition to Disneystore.com, MagicBand+ will continue to be sold at Walt Disney World Resort, and DisneyBand+ will continue to be sold on Disney Cruise Line.
