Disney World Survey Asks Guests About Park Entry as Rumors of Change Heat Up

Disney is surveying Walt Disney World guests about park technology, and park entry gets particular attention. The survey asks about MagicMobile, MagicBand+, the My Disney Experience app, and how guests tapped into the park. We reviewed the survey as rumors of new entry gates and less reliance on MagicBands continue to circulate. Disney has not confirmed the rumored changes to park entry, but the timing of these questions stands out.

Walt Disney World Survey Asks Guests About MagicMobile, MagicBand+ and Park Entry

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • What the survey asks about technology, MagicMobile, MagicBand+, and the My Disney Experience app.
  • How Disney asks guests to describe the way they entered the park.
  • Why the park entry questions stand out next to the entry gate rumors.

Guests visiting the theme parks often receive surveys after a Walt Disney World park visit. In a recently reviewed survey, Disney seemed to be interested in how guests used technology, including how they entered the parks. The survey covers the My Disney Experience app, MagicBand+, and MagicMobile, the smart device option Disney announced in March 2021.

The survey opens with a broad question. Disney asks, “Did you use any technology while you visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom?” A note under the question defines “technology”. It names the “My Disney Experience app,” “Lightning Lane Multi Pass,” and “Lightning Lane Single Pass.” The list also includes “Mobile Order,” “Merchandise Mobile Checkout,” and “MagicBand/MagicBand+.”

A rating question follows. The question reads, “Please rate your overall experience with technology during your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” Choices run from “Excellent” to “Poor,” with “Very Good,” “Good,” and “Just Okay” in between. Open comment boxes, each with a 500-character limit, appear later and ask guests, “Please be specific.”

The My Disney Experience app gets its own set of questions. Disney asks guests to agree or disagree with statements. One reads, “The My Disney Experience app is easy to use.” Another reads, “The My Disney Experience app’s features meet my needs.” Other questions ask guests to rate “Ease of finding information,” “Speed of page loads,” and “Accuracy of information.”

Individual app features get questions and ask for ratings too, including “Park Map page,” “In-app search,” and “View Wait Times & Show Times page.” One app feature list item touches on theme park entry directly: “Accessing theme park tickets and/or Annual Passes via the app during park visit.”

How Disney Asks Guests to Tap Into the Park

The park entry question is direct. Disney asks, “How did you tap to enter into Disney’s Animal Kingdom?” Guests choose from three answers:

  • MagicBand or MagicBand+
  • Physical card
  • Mobile device / Mobile wallet

Mobile entry gets follow-up questions if guests selected that option. One question asks, “Which of the following mobile devices did you personally use while visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom?” The options are Apple iOS, Android, and Other. Another asks guests to rate “the ease or difficulty of using your mobile device/wallet to enter Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” Again, five choices run from “Very easy” to “Very difficult.”

Another section covers MagicMobile features. Disney asks, “Which of the following MagicMobile features did you experience at the Walt Disney World Resort”? Guests can select “Park Entry,” “Lightning Lane Entry,” or “Linking Disney PhotoPass photos,” or choose “None of the above.” Disney lists Park Entry first among the MagicMobile features.

Disney Asks Guests to Look Ahead at MagicMobile and MagicBand+

The survey then asks, “Please rate your experience using the following digital features during your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” The survey version we reviewed listed “Overall My Disney Experience app” and “MagicMobile,” each rated from “Excellent” to “Poor.”

Another question asks guests to look ahead. It reads, “How likely are you to experience each of these MagicMobile features again on a future visit?” Park Entry is one of the options. The five choices are “Definitely will,” “Probably will,” “May or may not,” “Probably will not,” and “Definitely will not.”

A separate page uses the same likelihood of use scale for other technology features. Items Disney asks about include “Mobile Ordering at quick-service restaurants” and “MagicBand+”.

Disney also asks why guests rate MagicMobile the way they do. Answer choices for a positive rating include “MagicMobile made it easy to get into the parks.” Two other choices read “I liked not having to use a physical ticket” and “It worked as intended.”

Another question checks guest familiarity with MagicMobile features. It reads, “Please indicate your awareness of each of the following MagicMobile features, prior to taking this survey.”

Why the Park Entry Questions Stand Out

Of course, none of the questions we reviewed mention new park entry gates or facial recognition. Our October 15th rumor describes new gates for Walt Disney World, modeled on Disneyland’s. The new gates would likely lead to eventual facial recognition and less reliance on MagicBands. Disney’s survey asks guests how they tapped in and how easy mobile entry was. That information could matter if Disney is weighing changes like those rumored to be coming.

Disney has asked guests about park entry technology before. In April 2021, Disney surveyed guests who took part in the Magic Kingdom facial recognition test. The questions seemed most interested in repeat use and whether the experience changed after the first visit. That 2021 survey went to test participants. This most recent survey goes to all guests after a regular visit to the park.

MagicBand+ has been in motion too. Walt Disney World ended its discounted pre-arrival MagicBand+ pricing for resort hotel guests and Annual Passholders on October 8th, 2025. In April, Disneyland officials confirmed the resort is ending on-property MagicBand+ sales. Walt Disney World continues to sell the wearable, and both resorts continue to support MagicBand+.

Disney appears to be gathering guest feedback on entry technology at a time when changes may be coming. Walt Disney World has not responded to a request for comment about the rumors. For guests, the survey is a chance to weigh in on technology that is currently available, and it could inform what might be coming to the parks soon. If you received a similar survey, let us know the comments below or on social media.

As with any rumors, info should be considered unofficial unless and/or until Disney confirms it.
