Work Begins on Connecting Walt Disney World Railroad Tracks to TRON Construction Site

Work is underway in Tomorrowland to connect the existing Walt Disney World Railroad track to the TRON Lightcycle Run construction site. As you can see in our photos below, crews are working to extend the track that has remained untouched for years near Space Mountain to an eventual connection point under the Tomorrowland PeopleMover.

Here’s a look back at the track a few weeks ago.

And here’s a look at the work taking place today to lay down new synthetic railroad ties and extend the track.

Disney World has not announced a return date for the Walt Disney World Railroad, which has been closed since December 2, 2018.
