A permit has been filed by Walt Disney Imagineering for the installation of “set elements” at Toy Story Mania in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Because there is no refurbishment or update announced for the attraction, this leads us to believe that crews are working on set pieces for the upcoming Jessie’s Trading Post gift shop that will be at the exit to Toy Story Mania.
Announced in January, Jessie’s Trading Post promises “a new experience that is filled to the brim with fun. Andy discovered Jessie’s Trading Post playset tucked away in the attic, and is bringing it downstairs to set up shop—full of the coolest toys and finest souvenirs handpicked by the rootinest, tootinest cowgirl.”
Jessie’s Trading Post will expand upon the lightly themed gift shop that used to greet guests at the exit to Toy Story Mania. Here’s a look back at that space.
Disney has not released any concept art for the space and an opening date has not been announced beyond “2022”.
