Film Crews Spotted in Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT

On a morning stroll around World Showcase, we noticed film crews in the Morocco Pavilion, presumably capturing some “b-roll” footage as there were no actors when we walked by. As you may know, the Morocco Pavilion is now wholly owned by Disney after the operating participant company that previously owned it experienced financial hardships during COVID-19. The pavilion is, in our opinion, one of the most detailed at EPCOT and is currently underutilized with many shops and even a restaurant still closed since Disney took over.

The film crew was relatively small, utilizing a handheld camera for some shots of the pavilion as a whole and the Fez House (pictured above). It was not immediately clear what the footage will be used for, but we’re hopeful that Disney is on the precipice of reinvesting in this space.

Currently, guests can dine at Spice Road Table, grab a treat at Oasis Sweets & Sips, shop at Souk-al-Magreb, or meet Princess Jasmine. A number of shops are closed along with Restaurant Marrakesh, which used to include bellydancers and live music during meal periods. Guests can also catch the Atlas Fusion entertainment act on select days.
