Major Seven Seas Drive Reroute Will Go Through Magic Kingdom Parking Lot

According to permits filed with the state, Disney World is preparing a major change to Seven Seas Drive that will not only cut through the Magic Kingdom Cast Member parking lot but also necessitate a new entrance for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Here’s a Google Maps overview of the area as it existed recently. A new Cast Member entrance from Seven Seas Drive is not represented in the image, but other notable aspects such as the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort entrance, and Seven Seas Drive are as they exist today.

Here’s a look at the permit that reveals a major reroute of Seven Seas Drive through the Magic Kingdom parking lot.

And here’s an overlay showing the planned cut-through rerouting of Seven Seas Drive to connect it to a yet-to-be-built roundabout on Floridian Drive to the west.

The work will likely take place over the coming years as Disney wraps up the new construction of a Disney Vacation Club tower to the north, and other roundabouts and rerouting of Floridian Way closer to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
