Disney World has announced that they will begin a “phased removal of those beautiful 50th anniversary embellishments on Cinderella Castle”. While fans may have been hopeful that the castle would be repainted to pre-50th colors, Disney did not mention changes beyond the removal of decor. In fact, when the repainting was announced, it was not announced as a project tied to the 50th Anniversary at all. It was announced as a repainting to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Cinderella movie and we don’t expect an imminent repainting.
