  • Has Disney given a reason for the July closure?
  • What is Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire?

The Walt Disney World website currently lists no performances of Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire between July 7th and July 14th. Showtimes resume July 15th. The listing does not include a reason for the gap, and Disney has not made a separate announcement about it.

We reached out to Disney for details on the closure and have not yet received a response. A pause of this length can point to a number of things, but our bet is on routine stage or technical maintenance. We’ll be sure to update you if we learn more.

Castle stage shows have gone on temporary pause before. In July 2024, both Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire and the Let the Magic Begin welcome show were paused for roughly three weeks before resuming performances.

Of course, the Let the Magic Begin welcome show with characters has since been retired.

About Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire

Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire debuted on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage on February 25, 2022, bringing a castle stage show back to Magic Kingdom for the first time since March 2020. Disney describes it as a musical extravaganza that pulls classic and contemporary characters together, with Tiana and friends from The Princess and the Frog, Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled, and Olaf, Anna, and Elsa from Frozen all joining Mickey. The show features dancing, effects, and music drawn from the films, along with the original song “Where the Magic Feels Like Home.”

The show plays multiple times per day in front of Cinderella Castle. In April 2023, Mickey and his friends dropped their 50th Anniversary costumes in favor of updated looks, though the storyline and song stayed the same.
