After a couple of days of delays, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has reopened at Walt Disney World. Typhoon Lagoon, which is Disney World’s oldest operating water park, was closed since November 2022 for refurbishment. With the reopening of Typhoon Lagoon today, Blizzard Beach water park is now closed as Typhoon Lagoon prepares to carry Walt Disney World through the summer months. A reopening date for Blizzard Beach has not been announced, and it’s not clear if Blizzard Beach will reopen at all this summer. BlogMickey.com sources have indicated that Blizzard Beach may reopen should demand call for it, but an exact date has not been identified.
Earlier today, we made it out to Typhoon Lagoon to take a walk around the water park. There were no substantial changes to Typhoon Lagoon such as the Frozen retheme we saw at Blizzard Beach. Here are a few photos from around Typhoon Lagoon from the reopening this morning.
The newest attraction at Typhoon Lagoon is Miss Adventure Falls, and it’s the only ride at either water park with an audio-animatronic!
Typhoon Lagoon is a beautiful water park and highly themed.
Miss Tilly, the iconic shrimp boat crashed at the top of Mount Mayday, has had its water effects restored during the downtime. The effects haven’t been working for the past few years when wev’ve visited.
