Safer, More Direct Walkway Opens Between Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian During DVC Tower Construction

As work continues on bringing the new Disney Vacation Club tower to life, a new, more direct temporary walkway has opened between Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Previously, guests would have to cross Floridian Way when walking between the two resorts, creating a potentially dangerous situation for pedestrians. The walkway crossed the road twice, and drivers in the area were not always as careful as they should’ve been because the walkway was previously unused. Now, a more direct (and safer) temporary walkway has opened that removes the need to cross Floridian Way.

We made it out to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort recently to take some photos of the walkway. The walkway starts between the Aotearoa and Tonga buildings, heading south then west towards Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

As guests reach the end of the Aotearoa building, they hit the construction wall for the new DVC tower. Turning left, guests then walk along Floridian Way without the need to cross the road.

Here’s a look at where guests would previously cross Floridian Way.

Once you reach the end of the walkway, you turn right through the parking lot toward the Wedding Pavilion.
