With the introduction of the modified “Be Our Guest” Spaceship Earth show last night, we captured all of the currently playing Spaceship Earth Points of Light shows and what time they played. It’s worth noting that the times that they play are dependent on when the sun sets, so we’ll list the relative time to sunset as well. Last night (July 27th), sunset was at 8:19pm.
EPCOT Anthem Show | 8:29pm (10 minutes after sunset)
The EPCOT anthem show kicks off the evening just after sunset and probably before it’s dark enough to fully appreciate the show, although the soundtrack is what really shines here. The anthem was created by Pinar Toprak and is, honestly, probably the best thing to happen to the park in years. It’s an uplifting, grandiose anthem that we hope will play a larger part in more EPCOT media as the transformation wraps up this year.
Food & Wine Show | 8:39pm (20 minutes after sunset)
The 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival kicked off yesterday and instead of debuting a new show for the Festival, Disney opted to modify the 2022 “Be Our Guest” version of the show by removing the French language parts and adjusting some of the lighting effects.
EPCOT 40th Anniversary Show | 8:49pm (30 minutes after sunset)
The final show of the evening is the EPCOT 40th Anniversary show, which has been very well received by fans as it features classic music from EPCOT’s past, including the “We Go On” segment of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. The show is the last to play for the evening due to the 9pm start of EPCOT Forever. Disney does not play any of the shows after the park closes and the fireworks begin.
When planning your visit, keep in mind that the sun is setting earlier and earlier, which means an earlier start time for the shows, but still relative to the sunset time. As we get into the winter months and longer periods of darkness, there will be opportunities for Disney to introduce more than just 3 shows per night.
