Planet Earth Removed from Mission: SPACE Courtyard, Attraction Entrance Rerouted as Refurbishment Continues

While visiting EPCOT recently, we couldn’t help but notice that an entire planet was missing from the Mission: SPACE courtyard known as Planetary Plaza. Planet Earth has been removed as part of an ongoing refurbishment of the plaza. Also new since our last update is a rerouted entrance to the attraction which remains open during the work. Let’s take a look around!

Here’s a “before” photo from a few weeks ago.

And here’s a current look at the state of Planetary Plaza with Planet Earth removed.

The other two planets remain in place. We’d imagine that Mars would be a scaffolding situation in the future as it is part of the building.

Work has moved toward the pavement surrounding the moon, which means that a modified entrance is in place. Both Space 220 Restaurant and Mission: SPACE guests are now routed to the right side of the plaza.
