Additional Hardware Arrives on World Showcase Lagoon for Luminous Nighttime Spectacular at EPCOT

A second barge has arrived on World Showcase Lagoon as crews continue to perform checks on the hardware/software against the existing infrastructure for the all-new Luminous: The Symphony of Us fireworks show coming to EPCOT this December.

While there are just two barges on World Showcase Lagoon now, there are a total of six barges that will be used for the show. Each barge will contain lighting and pyrotechnics as well as water effects. In addition to the on-barge effects, there are multiple satellite platforms for each barge that will be deployed for the show.

While visiting EPCOT today, we took some photos of the second barge to arrive. Keep in mind that while these barges are moored right now, they are built to be mobile and the prevailing thought is that they will be kept in the backstage marina during the day and piloted out to World Showcase Lagoon in the evenings before the show starts. Therefore, while it’s fun to take a look at the barges during the daytime, we aren’t too worried about sightlines being spoiled once the testing is complete and the normal cadence of World Showcase Lagoon returns.
