Ahead of its December 5th debut at EPCOT, crews are continuing to prepare Luminous The Symphony of Us in World Showcase Lagoon. Friend of the site bioreconstruct recently took a helicopter tour over EPCOT and snapped some photos of the latest progress for the show.

Feast your eyes on an all-new nighttime spectacular as it lights up the sky over World Showcase Lagoon.
A Sparkling Spectacle
Delight in a dramatic show designed to bring us all together. Marvel at a dazzling pageant of fireworks, fountains, music and lights set to an original composition. New music, along with evocative selections from the Disney songbook, come together to remind us that we are more alike than we are different.
First, here’s a really cool overview of EPCOT. In the photo below, we can see World Showcase Lagoon toward the bottom of the image, and the three of the six Luminous barges staged in the middle of the lagoon.
In this side angle, we can start to see how the barges are docked against a hexagonal dock array.
Zooming in more, we can not only see the barges and the dock array, but also a series of buoys located in a circle around the central infrastructure. These buoys are currently used for the interim EPCOT Forever show, but some will also be utilized in the Luminous show.
For a better look at our guess for the layout, check out the graphic below where we tried to show where the central barges and satellite barges would be deployed. We have an earlier article exploring how the satellite barges work, but a quick overview is that the red platforms extend out from the blue u-shaped barges, while the green platforms are part of the array, but docked separately to a buoy.
Finally, here’s a detailed look at the main show barges docked to the central hexagonal array. The L-shaped dock in the middle remains from the Illuminations days and may or may not be used in the new show.
