We’re back at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to get an updated look at the Disney Vacation Club Island Tower construction! The hotel is currently scheduled to open December 17, 2024, and the proposed 10-story tower will feature a variety of room types, each brimming with original artwork inspired by the Polynesian Islands, wayfinding and the natural elements – earth, water, wind and sky. Each guest room will also feature custom pieces inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Moana”, but the Moana-inspired theming doesn’t end there.
Island Tower Update, Moana Pool Theming
Back in January, we reported that the pool area would also have Moana theming, and on a recent visit to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we saw just that! We’ll start this update with an overview of the current construction progress before taking a closer look at the visible Moana theming.
Changing our vantage point, we can see that Moana’s outrigger boat has been installed in the
“water activity pool” that we spotted in the January permits.
Elsewhere, hardscape work continues, as well as installation of lighting bases around the pool area.
