Pirates Bar Construction Expands at Magic Kingdom

Ahead of a 2025 opening, crews have expanded the construction walls for the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern (bar). The bar is expected to be located at the former Pirates League makeover experience, which has been closed since 2020. We noticed that construction walls had taken over the gift shop a few weeks ago, but now construction walls are starting to creep into the attraction queue as well.

As you can see in our photos below, construction walls now expand into the Lightning Lane queue at the attraction, but it has been rerouted and there are otherwise no other impacts on the ride. The construction walls envelop a nice little outdoor courtyard that we assume will be part of the project in some capacity. Disney World has still not officially confirmed that the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern will be in this location, but the construction is a rather good sign.

Here’s a look at the former entrance to the Pirates League, which will likely serve as a good entrance to the new Pirates tavern. The wall to the left covers a portion of the Lightning Lane queue, and the wall to the right of the door used to lead to the gift shop.

Here’s a look at the expanded construction walls from the standby queue for Pirates of the Caribbean.
