As we continue our coverage of the D23 Expo, there are a few stories that we didn’t immediately cover during an action-packed evening at the Honda Center. One of those was the release of new concept art and details for the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar coming to Magic Kingdom.
Pirates Bar Opening 2025 at Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean tavern is already under construction and was first announced at the 2023 Destination D23 event at Walt Disney World. An update was provided during a rapid-fire montage during the 2024 D23 Expo Disney Experiences keynote, including a look at new concept art.
Set course for the Magic Kingdom! First announced at Destination D23 last year, this rambunctious watering hole will offer a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind, big and small, and everyone in between. Here, bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas are welcome to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life! In the newly released artwork, X marks the spot for a sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub inside this tavern location coming to Magic Kingdom Park.
The tavern will likely be located at the exit to the ride, where construction is already underway. This space used to be the Pirates League makeover experience, but that never returned following the COVID-19 shutdown. No word on if there will be rum or not, although the concept art appears to show beer and wine. While Magic Kingdom is a “dry” park, alcohol has been served for some time at table-service restaurants. We imagine that Disney could implement a policy like they do at Oga’s Cantina in “dry” Disneyland. That is, you have to consume your drink before you walk out the door.
