A number of auditions have been posted by Disney seeking “Character Performers, Parade Performers, and Look-Alike Performers”. In the audition listing, Walt Disney World says that “Performers may even have the opportunity to be a part of Parades and Shows across the Walt Disney World Resort including the new Disney’s Starlight Parade“. Disney’s Starlight parade was announced at this year’s D23 Expo about a month ago, and it is set to debut in Summer 2025 at Magic Kingdom.
“Disney Starlight” will continue the nighttime spectacular legacy started by the “Main Street Electrical Parade” using the latest technology to tell new stories about the characters you love. All of this is brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy, in addition to beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films “Peter Pan,” “Encanto,” “Frozen,” and more.
Disney will allow performers to attend an open call in Atlanta, Austin, and New York City. It’s likely that Walt Disney World will also host local tryouts, although they are not listed yet.
While the casting call is for more than just the Disney Starlight parade, this is the first time that we’ve seen Walt Disney World dangle the carrot of the new parade in its publicly posted casting notices.
Currently, we have Memorial Day Weekend circled in our calendars as the likely earliest time that the Disney Starlight parade would debut. Walt Disney World has announced the return of Disney After Hours to Magic Kingdom, but has no events currently scheduled past May 19th, while other After Hours events run through September 2025.
Walt Disney World has not announced a debut date yet for the Disney Starlight parade beyond “Summer 2025”.
