Going Out of Business Vibes: Generic Plush Prizes Replace Most Themed Prizes Ahead of Phase One DinoLand USA Closure

|

|

In just a couple of weeks, the first chunk of DinoLand USA will be permanently closed for a multi-year reimagining into a Tropical Americas-themed land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The work will be done in phases, with the first phase closures set to begin January 13, 2025. That means that your last chance to experience TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and the Chester & Hester gift shop will be on January 12th. To that end, we’ve been spending some time in DinoLand USA to document its closure, and it is very clear that the end is near.

Generic Plush Prizes at Fossil Fun Games

As inventory gets low, Walt Disney World has turned to generic plush prizes for the Fossil Fun Games instead of themed prizes. We’ve been keeping an eye on the prizes for a little while now, hoping that the generic prizes were temporary, but it looks like this might be how we ride out into the sunset.

Some games still have a decent supply of themed plush prizes, but most of the “easy-to-win” prizes are the generic plush.
