While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we noticed that Walt Disney World is in the process of rebuilding the Adventureland entrance following a substantial dismantling. The work took place last night after a nearly full teardown of the structure that held the sign. We’ll start with a look at the entrance portal from a visit to Magic Kingdom yesterday, followed by a look at the work taking place to rebuild the entrance from a visit to Magic Kingdom this morning!
Disney Begins Rebuilding Adventureland Entrance
As a reminder, the Adventureland sign was removed roughly two weeks ago, and Disney began dismantling the structure shortly thereafter.
Here’s what the entrance portal looked like yesterday. Essentially, all of the crossbeams were taken down and presumably refreshed or replaced entirely. Some wood remained in place between the central columns in the walkway to provide some stability while the crossbeams were missing.
And here’s a look at the Adventureland entrance during our visit to Magic Kingdom this morning. As you can see, the first crossbeam has returned on the Adventureland side of the structure. We expect that the portal will look similar to what it looked like before the work, and that the work was related to a refresh of materials, and not a wholesale redesign. That said, we wouldn’t be too surprised if some elements of the sign didn’t make a return.
