While visiting Magic Kingdom recently, we noticed that construction trailers have arrived for the Walt Disney Imagineering complex just west of Magic Kingdom to support Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land construction. This comes as a new milestone is about to be reached inside Magic Kingdom with the demolition of Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America. Here’s a look at what’s happening just outside of the berm.
Imagineering Trailers Arrive for Piston Peak National Park, Villains Land Construction
Before we take a look at the construction trailers, let’s get some context as to where they’re going and what to expect when the work is done. In the permit overlay image below, we can see the Imagineering trailer complex and associated parking lot that is currently under construction just west of Magic Kingdom.
In the permit screenshot below for “Project SNK-TL”, we can see that there are two proposed spots for construction trailers, with a third plot held for a future trailer. The permit is for the construction of a potable water connection to the site. The project is estimated at $100,000, and construction began in June 2025. Disney estimates that the work will take about a year, wrapping up in May 2026.
Right now, the two blue trailers are being built. The “smaller” of the two trailers is an “8-wide” trailer, and the larger trailer is a “29-wide” trailer. As we can see in the photos below, many segments have been delivered already and are awaiting final installation. It’s also hard to tell if any pavement has been installed yet, but the vast majority of the massive parking lot is still dirt. Here’s a look!
