Along with the recent increase in prices for Walt Disney World Annual Passes, Disney has increased the savings when renewing select pass types. The savings effectively offset the price increase for two of the four Annual Passes. In this article, we’ll take a look at the Walt Disney World Annual Pass renewal discounts and the savings bump for two of the pass types.
Walt Disney World Annual Pass Renewal Discount
Current and recently former Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can enjoy up to a $250 discount on Annual Pass renewals. The discount encourages guests to keep their passes active, and the savings can be significant when considering the ever-increasing base cost of an Annual Pass.
Passes are eligible for renewal 60 days prior to and up to 30 days after their expiration date. Annual Passholders can complete the renewal process online, or by calling 407-939-7277. Passholders can also visit Guest Relations or any main entrance ticket booth at the theme parks for help renewing their passes.
Note that even if you renew prior to your Annual Pass expiring, the new pass and validity date doesn’t begin until your current Pass expires.
With the cost of an Annual Pass increasing recently, we wanted to take a look at the Annual Pass renewal discounts. What we found was that two of the pass types actually increased the discount amount by the same amount as the Annual Pass base price increase. That means that the renewal rate has not changed from year to year for those Annual Pass types, despite the increase in the base price of those passes. Here’s a breakdown.
Disney Incredi-Pass
The Disney Incredi-Pass base price increased by 5.2%, or $80, this year. The renewal discount for the Incredi-Pass remained steady at $250.
- Incredi-Pass base price: $1,629
- Incredi-Pass renewal price: $1,379
That means that the renewal discount on the Incredi-Pass is 15.3%.
Disney Sorcerer Pass
The Disney Sorcerer Pass base price increased by 1.9%, or $20, this year. The renewal discount for the Sorcerer Pass increased from $150 to $170, covering the base price increase and keeping the renewal rate the same this year as last year.
- Sorcerer Pass base price: $1,099
- Sorcerer Pass renewal price: $929
That means that the renewal discount on the Sorcerer Pass is 15.5%.
Disney Pirate Pass
The Disney Pirate Pass base price increased by 4.8%, or $40, this year. The renewal discount for the Pirate Pass remained steady at $120.
- Pirate Pass base price: $869
- Pirate Pass renewal price: $749
That means that the renewal discount on the Pirate Pass is 13.8%.
Disney Pixie Dust Pass
The Disney Pixie Dust Pass base price increased by 4.3%, or $20, this year. The renewal discount for the Pixie Dust Pass increased from $70 to $90, covering the base price increase and keeping the renewal rate the same this year as last year.
- Pixie Dust Pass base price: $489
- Pixie Dust Pass renewal price: $399
That means that the renewal discount on the Pixie Dust Pass is 18.4%.
