A new version of the Walt Disney Studios Lot concept art is among the artwork found on the construction walls that surround the former Animation Courtyard. While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, we stopped by for a closer look at the new concept art, along with an updated look at the ongoing repainting of buildings in the area.
New Walt Disney Studios Lot Concept Art
In case you missed it, Animation Courtyard is being renamed the Walt Disney Studios Lot. Within the newly renamed area, guests will find The Magic of Disney Animation experience, The Little Mermaid show at the Studio Theater, and other, unnamed offerings. When the transformation was announced, Disney released two pieces of concept art, both seen below. One offered a birds-eye view during the night, and the other was a daytime ground-level view of the new area.
While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios earlier today, we stopped by to snap a photo of a new version of the birds-eye view concept art. This new version presents the area during the daytime, giving us a better look at the colors of the buildings and the surrounding areas. Beyond seeing the true color of the buildings, it appears that there are no substantial changes between the two versions of the artwork. Here’s a closer look!
The nighttime version of the concept art is also present on the construction walls surrounding the area. Also present is the updated poster for The Magic of Disney Animation, featuring Robin Williams’ Lost Boy character, revealed back in mid-August.
Repainting of Hollywood Studios Soundstages
While walking through the area, we grabbed some updated photos of the ongoing repainting of the former Disney Junior Dance Party building. There is also some new painting taking place on the Little Mermaid show building. Crews are also patching holes in the side of the Disney Junior Dance Party building, left following the demolition of an awning covering the outdoor character meet and greets.
As a reminder, the Hollywood Studios archway that used to welcome guests into the area has been completely demolished.
