New aerial photos posted by friend of the site Bioreconstruct reveal that the former Hollywood Studios archway has been completely demolished in Animation Courtyard. We brought you a first look at the demolition yesterday, and crews completed the work overnight. Here’s a look at the demolition, along with other work taking place in Animation Courtyard.
Hollywood Studios Archway Demolished
We’ll start with the news of the day – the Hollywood Studios archway has been demolished. As you can see in the photos below, the archway is gone, demolished overnight as crews work to transform the area. Here’s a closer look.
Other notable work in Animation Courtyard includes the removal of the Star Wars Launch Bay signage, continuing demolition of awnings for former character meet and greet areas, and the repainting of the former Disney Junior Dance Party.
Walt Disney World is currently transforming the area into a new space themed to the Walt Disney Studios Lot. That includes some light hardscape work, the demolition seen above, and a transformation of the former Star Wars Launch Bay.
