Walt Disney World has issued an update on the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool expansion project. As you may remember, we’ve been tracking the project since April 2024, when Disney first filed permits for a 5,500 sqft building near the existing swimming pool. Since then, Disney confirmed that they were expanding the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. Now, we have an idea of when the project will be completed.
Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Expansion Project End Date
In a new update to the Walt Disney World website, Disney has confirmed an end timeframe for the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool expansion project. Here’s the updated notice with a mid-2026 end date.
From early May 2025 through mid-2026, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy. During this time, seating availability around the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool may be limited and Guests may see or hear construction in the area. Guests using bus transportation should follow posted signage to reach the pool area.

First, here’s a look back at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area from before the construction began. As we’ll soon see, the tennis court and volleyball area will be sacrificed for an expanded pool area.
Here’s an August 2025 aerial photo of the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. At the top of the image below, we see the sprawling Disney Lakeshore Lodge resort under construction. In the middle-right of the image, we can see construction underway for the pool expansion project at the Meadows Swimmin’ Pool.
Finally, here’s an October 2025 update on the project, showing the outline of the new pool area, along with work on new buildings that are part of the expansion as well.
Disney says that the new pool will be a zero-entry pool, effectively doubling the space that guests will be able to relax in during their vacation. As part of the project, there will be a new tennis court, along with two pickleball courts.
