Walt Disney World Expands Covered Bus Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

|

While visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently, we stopped by the bus station to check in on a project that has been ongoing for some time now. Walt Disney World is in the process of expanding the covered bus station to create more shade and protection from the elements at two of the bus stops. This comes as the park will likely undergo several quality-of-life updates over the next year or so ahead of the 2027 opening of the Tropical Americas land that is replacing DinoLand USA. Here’s a look at the covered bus station expansion at Animal Kingdom.

As you can see in the photos below, the current covered structure is being expanded. The existing structure was built back in 2017 for the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar. This will mean that at least two more bus stops will be fully covered. That might not seem like a big deal now, but Disney is likely preparing for when more crowds are expected at Disney’s Animal Kingdom once the Tropical Americas land opens in 2027. I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if a new nighttime show and expanded entertainment were also on the docket for 2027 as a way to help the struggling theme park. At the very least, there will be more covered bus stops.
