Coral Reef Restaurant Quietly Ends Lunch Service at EPCOT

|

Earlier this week, the Coral Reef Restaurant quietly ended its lunch service at EPCOT. This followed our November 2025 reporting, which called out what appeared to be an upcoming end to the lunch service. At the time of that report, there was some confusion as to if and when the lunch meal period would actually come to an end at the restaurant. Now, lunch is no more. Here’s the latest.

Coral Reef Restaurant Ends Lunch Service

Earlier this week, lunch service at Coral Reef Restaurant was quietly ended, according to info on the Walt Disney World website. Now, the only reservations available for the restaurant are for the dinner meal period, which begins at 4pm, daily.

As to why the restaurant ended its lunch service, we can only guess. Walt Disney World did not respond to requests for comment about the change.

If we had to guess, there was likely not enough demand to staff the restaurant during the lunch period. Now, with only 5 hours of operation daily, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, Disney will do to try and boost the popularity of the dining location. I’m not sure if 5 hours per day is enough to justify keeping it open, long-term.

As of publish time, reservations and operating hours for Coral Reef Restaurant are available through early March, which is how far in advance the operating calendar is currently posted on the Walt Disney World website.

Disney has been investing a bit in the exterior of the dining venue, with new signage installed last Summer. Disney even created a new bit of theming to hold the menu and turn it toward the walkway (pictured below). That doesn’t seem to have worked, either.
