DINOSAUR Attraction Facing Operational Challenges Ahead of Permanent Closure

For the second morning in a row, the DINOSAUR attraction is facing operational challenges. Yesterday, the attraction failed to open during the Early Entry period for guests, and today is the same story. Here’s the latest.

DINOSAUR Attraction Faces Operational Challenges

For the second morning in a row, the DINOSAUR attraction is not ready to open with the rest of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The attraction will have its final day of operation on February 1st before closing permanently to be reimagined as an Indiana Jones-themed ride.

While the ride is not yet running today, it was limping a bit yesterday when it did finally open. When we rode yesterday morning, only one side of the load station was accepting guests, effectively halving the capacity for the ride and doubling the wait time.

That said, the attraction itself looks great. Dinosaurs have been refreshed and are all working wonderfully compared to recent years. There is something with the ride system or vehicles that is preventing the attraction from opening on time.

If the operational challenges continue into the closing weekend, we anticipate that wait times will skyrocket as fans try to get their final blast to the past before the ride closes forever.
