DINOSAUR Wait Time Hits Record High on Final Day of Operation

|

Guests are coming out in droves to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to experience the DINOSAUR attraction one last time before it goes extinct. The ride currently has a wait time of 265 minutes, easily the longest wait that has been posted for the attraction in its history, according to data collected by thrill-data.com.

DINOSAUR Hits Record-High 4 Hour Wait Time

DINOSAUR posted a 265-minute wait time at 1:54pm, and Disney’s internal forecasting suggests that the wait time will continue to climb closer to the dinnertime hour as guests get their last-ever ride in before the attraction closes.

DINOSAUR is being replaced by an Indiana Jones-themed ride, although the ride track is expected to remain the same. Crews will begin work this month to hit a 2027 deadline to have the attraction reopened with the rest of the Tropical Americas land, which includes an all-new Encanto-themed ride.

DINOSAUR is an opening day attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, although it was called the Countdown to Extinction back then.

DINOSAUR takes guests back in time in a Time Rover vehicle as the ambitious Dr. Grant Seeker attempts to capture a live dinosaur. Dr. Seeker, a fan of unauthorized field trips to the Late Cretaceous period himself, enlists the help of guests during an engaging and entertaining pre-show video. From there, guests board the Time Rover for a bumpy trip back to the age of the dinosaurs to try and find the Iguanodon.

Close encounters with ferocious carnivores and gentle herbivores end with a successful mission as guests dodge the asteroid impact that wiped out most life forms some 66 million years ago.
