Permit Filed for Construction of Bluey Meet & Greet, Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom This Summer

A newly filed permit indicates that work will soon be underway to bring a Bluey meet and greet to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The permit was filed yesterday, and it was prepared by Disney Live Entertainment. Here’s a closer look!

Permit Filed for Bluey Meet & Greet

A new permit was filed this week for electrical work at the Conservation Station building in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The permit indicates an extensive amount of electrical work, and all signs are pointing to this being for the upcoming Bluey meet and greet. As you may remember, Bluey and Bingo are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this Summer. The duo will be found at Conservation Station.

The permit was prepared by Disney Live Entertainment, which, as their name would suggest, handles live shows and character meet and greet interactions at Walt Disney World and beyond. The addresses listed on the permit is for Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is the location that Walt Disney World previously announced would be where guests could meet Bluey and Bingo.

Furthermore, the permit lists an extensive amount of work for contractor Maddox Electric Company. The scope of the work includes the installation of a new transformer, a disconnect, a 200-amp panel, and a 100-amp panel for a future relay. From the outside looking in, this sounds like it will be a brand-new meet and greet space. More specifically, it’ll probably be a repurposed space that has brand new capabilities for a meet and greet.

Actually, it’s entirely possible that this is more than a meet and greet. Disney technically didn’t say that they would have a Bluey meet and greet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Here’s the announcement:

Beginning in summer 2026 at Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll be able to take a fun excursion to Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, where you can play and dance with Bluey and Bingo! Play some of your favorite games from Bluey episodes with a fun animal twist, like butterfly keepy uppy.

Grab the whole family and snap some pictures alongside your Blue Heeler pals to remember this one-of-a-kind adventure. Plus, as part of your wild excursion, step outside to discover an experience with animals native to Bluey’s home country of Australia!

It’s entirely possible that this electrical work is to support a larger live entertainment experience, perhaps even a show or show-like offering of some sort. There are also rumors that suggest that Bluey may displace some offerings at Conservation Station, but we’re still working on getting those details.

In short, a lot of electrical work is coming to Conservation Station and we’re pretty sure that Bluey is the reason for the extensive work.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Conservation Station has had an interesting recent past. Back in September 2018, we broke the news that Disney planned on shutting down the Conservation Station area. The news was confirmed by Cast Members and eventually confirmed by Disney to media outlets.

Weeks later, Disney reversed the decision, keeping Conservation Station open. Since then, Disney has added some activities to the hard-to-get-to venue, which is only accessible by train. Disney has used specialty meet and greets in the past to entice visitation, but nothing will be a bigger draw than when Bluey arrives this Summer. Conservation Station will go from an oft-overlooked part of the theme park to one of the most popular places to visit.

Here’s a gallery of some of our archive images from Conservation Station and Rafiki’s Planet Watch from over the years.
