Good morning from Magic Kingdom, where there has been a development in how Villains Land could interact with the Haunted Mansion attraction. While details about the new land remain scarce for now, crews continue to expand land-clearing efforts, now encroaching on the nearby Haunted Mansion attraction. Here’s the latest!
Villains Land Clearing Nears Haunted Mansion
We’ll begin this update with a look at the land clearing taking place adjacent to the Haunted Mansion queue and show building. As you can see in our photos below, there is a significant amount of tree clearing happening right next to the Haunted Mansion outdoor queue.
A giant slope has been cleared of trees as part of ongoing land clearing for the upcoming Villains Land at Magic Kingdom.
Here are some recent aerial photos from friend of the site Bioreconstruct, showing the land clearing next to Haunted Mansion, and even more land clearing happening behind the attraction show building. There are also changes taking place at the Haunted Mansion itself, very likely related to the nearby work on Villains Land. First, we can see that all of the landscaping has been removed from in front of the Mansion.
Finally, here’s a look at how thin the trees are near the extended outdoor queue. There is still ongoing work in the outdoor graveyard, with new scaffolding in place, likely to allow crews access to the front of the mansion and the rooftops. Additional scaffolding in backstage areas appears to also support rooftop access.
