High-Reach Cranes Removed from Cinderella Castle as Repainting Project Wraps Up

|

All of the high-reach cranes have been removed from around Cinderella Castle as the repainting project draws to a close. In fact, nearly every high-reach crane has been removed from the drained Cinderella Castle moat, indicating that a moat refilling could take place early next month. Here’s the latest!

High-Reach Cranes Removed from Around Cinderella Castle

It looks like the threat of high-reach cranes ruining photos of Cinderella Castle is now over. The cranes have been removed from around the Castle, and we haven’t seen them in daytime use for quite some time now. For all intents and purposes, we’re considering the Cinderella Castle repainting project complete, at least as it relates to most views of the Castle.

As of publish time, the moat is still drained around the Castle, which means that some photos will still not have a picture-perfect look to them. That said, photos along Main Street USA and in the hub in front of Cinderella Castle should look great now.

Before we take a look at photos from our visit to Magic Kingdom today, it’s worth giving Walt Disney World and the repainting teams kudos for how they handled this repainting. Not only does the finished product look great, but the impact on vacation photos was minimal. The daytime repainting efforts only took place from 9am to noon, with the high-reach cranes lowered every day at lunchtime to provide clear photos of Cinderella Castle in the afternoons and evenings.

Here’s a look at the (still) drained moat and the single high-reach crane that remains hidden beneath the Tomorrowland bridge. It seems like work is limited to overnight hours, and once a punch list of outstanding items and touchups is complete, the moat can be refilled.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
