Disney Vacation Club has released new concept art for the upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge, currently scheduled to open Summer 2027 along the shore of Bay Lake at Fort Wilderness. The new concept art takes a look at the back of the hotel, confirming some details that we’ve been tracking during our construction updates. Here’s a look!
New Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art & Details
This updated concept art confirms a number of details that we’ve been tracking during construction updates, including what appears to be a very fun pool area. We’ll actually start our detailed look at the concept art by taking a closer look at the very far right of the image.
We’ve known that Disney Lakeshore Lodge will have its own dock for a while, and this concept art appears to show a new style of boat. We assume that it’s a leisure boat, and not only strictly for transporting guests to Magic Kingdom or other area destinations. Although unconfirmed, we are hearing that there will be some new watercraft introduced to Bay Lake when Lakeshore Lodge comes online next Summer.
Sticking on the right side of the image, we’ll take a look at the table service restaurant that will have wonderful views of Bay Lake. As we previously reported, it is expected that the portion of the building closest to the water will be for sit-down dining. It’s tough to see in the concept art, but we believe that the venue will double as a pool bar/quick-service dining on the side closest to the pool area.
Speaking of the pool area, this section of the W-shaped resort will not only feature a pool, but a lazy river as well. There appears to be a treehouse-style slide that leads into the pool. A lazy river is just steps away.
In the portion of the concept art zoomed in below, we can see the main lobby, which will feature floor-to-ceiling windows that welcome natural sunlight and showcase views of the local flora and fauna, allowing the outdoors to flow seamlessly into the architecture, artwork, and ambiance.
The final area of interest in this concept art is the A-frame cabin seen in the lower left. This is one of a dozen or so that will be found along the waterfront.
Projected to open at Walt Disney World Resort in summer 2027, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers. Inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors, the resort’s design will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films — from the lush forests of Bambi and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.
With 967 thoughtfully designed rooms, this new addition to the Disney Resorts Collection will offer a variety of ways to stay, from cozy studios to spacious suites. Many rooms will offer peaceful views of Bay Lake by day and spectacular views of Magic Kingdom park fireworks by night. The resort will also debut with new one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront, offering families an even closer connection to nature with ample space to relax and unwind.
