Following some early previews for Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and other select groups, Soarin’ Across America has soft-opened to all guests this morning at EPCOT. The attraction is scheduled to officially open to the public on May 26th, but this soft opening allows anyone at EPCOT right now the chance to ride early.
Soarin’ Across America Soft Opens at EPCOT
According to the My Disney Experience app, Soarin’ Across America is open to all guests with nearly an hour wait time.
During a soft opening, the attraction may close at any time and reopen at any time.
Soarin’ Across America is the new film playing inside the Soarin’ attraction at EPCOT. It replaces Soarin’ Around the World, which closed at EPCOT on May 13, 2026, just under two weeks before the new film’s debut.
The attraction itself remains the same: a 180-degree, 80-foot IMAX digital projection dome that lifts guests into the air while spectacular aerial footage plays in front of them. The flight, the sights, the score, even the scents are all still part of the experience. What’s changed is the destinations that guests will visit.
The film is structured around a “seasons and regions” concept, designed to showcase the full breadth of the United States across a wide range of landscapes and settings. Disney has confirmed the film features more than a dozen locations, spanning from New England and New York Harbor to the American Southwest and Hawaii.
Tom Fitzgerald, Portfolio Executive Creative Director and Chief Storytelling Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, explained the reasoning behind the updating of the ride: “When production wrapped almost a decade ago on Soarin’ Around the World, we started thinking about where we might go next with the format. A trip across the United States felt like a natural next flight for Soarin’ to take, and the 250th anniversary of our nation provided the perfect opportunity to ‘book the flight.'”
Fitzgerald described the film’s overall vision as a portrait of what makes America special. “It’s a tapestry of urban wonders, natural beauty, and iconic locations that celebrate the spirit of the nation and the 250th anniversary of the United States,” he said.
