New Locations Revealed

Disney has shared a first look at several of the locales guests will experience when the new film debuts. The experience is designed around a “seasons and regions” concept, showcasing the breadth of the United States across a wide range of landscapes and settings.

Confirmed locations include:

  • The rugged New England coastline
  • New York Harbor and its iconic welcome
  • Grand Canyon West
  • The autumn heartland
  • Southern bayous
  • The great plains
  • The northern wilderness
  • Hawaiian island shores
  • Mount Rushmore

Tom Fitzgerald, creative director and chief storytelling executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, described the vision behind the film: “Each scene helps to create a portrait of what we believe makes America so special. It’s a tapestry of urban wonders, natural beauty, and iconic locations that celebrate the spirit of the nation and the 250th anniversary of the United States.”

One of the more notable announcements for fans of the original attraction is the music. Bruce Broughton has composed a brand-new arrangement of the beloved Jerry Goldsmith Soarin’ themes specifically for Soarin’ Across America. Ride programming, wind effects, and other sensory elements will complement the updated score to create a fully immersive experience.

Soarin’ Challenge Across America at EPCOT

Walt Disney World guests will have an added experience in the queue. The Soarin’ Challenge Across America, developed in collaboration with National Geographic, transforms the EPCOT boarding area into an interactive trivia challenge celebrating American geography and culture. The experience draws from National Geographic titles including 50 States, 5,000 Ideas and features photography from the National Geographic archives.
