While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, we spotted a Slinky Dog Dash ride vehicle sitting stranded on the tracks. This comes as the attraction is currently experiencing its third day in a row of downtime. The vehicle sits stopped at the second launch, further back in the launch than where a car normally comes to rest. An electrical panel is open and visible nearby. As we reported when the closure stretched into a third day, Disney has not given a cause for the shutdown.

Vehicle Stopped Mid-Launch, Electrical Panel Visible Nearby
The stranded vehicle sits at Slinky Dog Dash’s second launch. The vehicle rests well short of where the launch would typically send riders into the finale of the ride. That positioning points to a possible E-stop. An E-stop is a safety feature that halts a ride vehicle wherever it happens to be on the track the moment a fault is detected.
Nearby, an electrical panel sits open, tucked among the colorful blocks that make up the launch theming. It houses what looks like ride control and communication equipment. That’s the kind of infrastructure Disney would need to reach while diagnosing a fault. The open panel could point to an electrical issue.
In terms of timing for a fix, the site didn’t appear to be active this morning when we visited. It’s unclear if there is an active fix being worked on, or if there might be a reason for a prolonged downtime.
Disney has not returned requests for more information about the issues Slinky Dog Dash is experiencing, or when it may reopen.
