What Disney Plans to Reveal and What We Know So Far
Disney says the Disney Believe will feature one-of-a-kind venues and entertainment. Those experiences will draw on Disney Animation’s Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid. Fans also get a question at the end of the announcement: “Do you believe?”
Disney revealed at D23 in August that the Grand Hall will take its theme from Moana. A bronze statue of Moana, Pua, and Heihei will be a focal point. Woody and Buzz Lightyear will write the ship’s name across the stern, and a hand-painted Tinker Bell filigree will decorate the bow. The sculpt models for the stern and the Grand Hall statue went on display at D23 Expo, giving fans a close look at the characters in unpainted form.
Construction is moving along as well. Disney says the first of three gigablocks, the midship section that includes the Grand Hall, floated out of the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, in September. Work on the second gigablock is now underway, and Disney marked the keel laying ceremony with a custom coin featuring Tinker Bell.
