PHOTOS: Latest Aerial Update for Guardians of the Galaxy Site at Epcot (November 2017)

On our recent flight over Walt Disney World, we were able to spot the Guardians of the Galaxy construction site and the work being done. With the gutting of the Universe of Energy taking place, a huge plot of land has been cleared for the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction and supporting infrastructure.

The majority of the land in the below photo will be used to create ponds for stormwater runoff displaced by the removal of the canal. A little less than 1/4 of the cleared site will be for the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction building.

The attraction building (green) will sit atop the current canal, as shown in this permit composite image.

A peek over towards the rear of the Universe of Energy building shows road barricades have been installed and an Imagineering trailer has been removed.

Guardians of the Galaxy is set to debut at Epcot by 2021.
