Walt Disney World has announced holiday music for three attractions: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, plus Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Cosmic Rewind adds three seasonal songs on November 25th, and both Hollywood Studios overlays begin November 4th. Guests will hear Andy Williams, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and The Waitresses at EPCOT, plus The Electric Mayhem with Jennifer Hudson and Cyndi Lauper at the Muppets coaster. All three overlays close January 6th.

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • The three holiday songs and November 25th start date at Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT.
  • The Muppets holiday overlay, set list, and special guests at Hollywood Studios.
  • The four holiday tunes coming to Alien Swirling Saucers.

The holiday music updates cover two parks and open on two different dates. All of the attractions each play one randomized song per ride, so new tracks change the experience on every trip. The EPCOT playlist starts two days before the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays opens on November 27th, and the Hollywood Studios overlays start earlier in November.

Cosmic Rewind Holiday Songs at EPCOT

Disney says Cosmic Rewind will let guests “defend the galaxy to the tune of three holiday songs.” The seasonal playlist starts November 25th and closes January 6th, 2027, with the songs shuffled for each ride. Every trip through the Wonders of Xandar pavilion can bring a different track. Disney calls the playlist a Holiday Remix, and Disney is expanding the setlist from the last time they tried a holiday overlay on the ride.

The three holiday songs are:

  • “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams
  • “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
  • “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses

Outside the holiday season, Cosmic Rewind plays one of six songs from Terran musicians. We covered that soundtrack in our Cosmic Rewind review in 2022:

  • “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire
  • “Disco Inferno” by The Trammps
  • “Conga” by Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine
  • “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears
  • “I Ran (So Far Away)” by A Flock of Seagulls
  • “One Way or Another” by Blondie

Because those six are the regular soundtrack, the holiday songs will to replace them during the overlay. The music fits the story, since Star-Lord, a Terran who visited EPCOT as a kid, is eager to share his love of earthly rock ‘n’ roll with the Xandarians.

Holiday Overlays at Hollywood Studios

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, which opened earlier this year, gets a limited-time holiday makeover. The holiday overlay, officially titled Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay, opens November 4th and closes January 6th. Disney describes it as a “festive celebration filled with seasonal tunes and new surprises.” The holiday music starts in the courtyard around the giant guitar, before guests head inside G-Force Records.

Inside the studio, Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips are rehearsing their holiday show, and a few Muppet friends stop by to help with predictably chaotic results. Scooter, the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of the character, works with the penguin audio engineers to get the band across town in time. Riders then board the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object, or L.I.M.O., behind Studio C.

The holiday set list includes:

  • “Holiday Road” by The Electric Mayhem featuring Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear
  • “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson
  • “Silver Bells” by The Electric Mayhem featuring Cyndi Lauper

Disney mentions four new holiday tracks but names three, so one song may still be unannounced. The regular ride plays one of five songs, as listed on our Muppets coaster attraction page, with each vehicle assigned a randomized track.

Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land also gets a holiday overlay from November 4th through January 6th. Disney is inviting guests to “spin it back with new holiday tunes.” Four songs make up the holiday playlist:

  • “Toyland”
  • “Deck the Halls”
  • “Swirling, Swirling, Saucers”
  • “Joy to the Swirl”

Two of the titles, “Swirling, Swirling, Saucers” and “Joy to the Swirl,” play on the attraction’s name. Disney has not yet shared artists or arrangements for any of the four. The overlay opens the same day as the Muppets coaster, so one early-November visit to Hollywood Studios covers both.
