Hub construction photo update

Work continues in the Hub at the Magic Kingdom. Let’s take a look at what’s going on.

First let’s take a look one of the completed areas. The Plaza Gardens, located on either side of Main Street USA, are actually quite nice and are currently used as FastPass+ viewing location during Wishes.

Statues of your favorite Disney characters can be found in the hub.

The walkways offer shortcuts to the different lands. They are generally pretty spacious as well.

Moving on to the areas still under construction. The walls have been removed directly in front of the forecourt stage as will allow proper viewing of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Both walkways on either side of the stage remain walled off and under construction.

Here’s a super-wide view of the construction. You can see that two of the four turrets are uncovered, but two remain behind scrims.

A look from a few days ago shows that construction on the old Rose Garden is almost complete. It will now be a walkway like the rest of the Hub.

A fair amount of vegetation has been added to the area and actually looks quite nice.

We also walked around to the backside of the Castle to find the crane in its normal spot. Over the next few months a couple hundred thousand lights will be draped over Cinderella’s Castle for the Christmas season.

Also, Castle Couture is behind a large scrim.

Both of these obstacles provide a rather crowded area as guests can’t pass through the Castle due to the aforementioned walkway construction.

Here’s what everything looks like from the Liberty Square walkway to the left of the Castle.

That’s it! Hopefully we are in the closing weeks of the Hub construction and we can get reap the benefits of improved walkways.
