Aerial Photos of Grand Floridian Walkway to Magic Kingdom Construction (June 2020)

As Disney World prepares to welcome guests back to the theme parks on July 11th and the resorts just a couple of days from now, they are prioritizing certain projects around property. We took a look at Cinderella Castle earlier this evening, and now we have a look at the Grand Floridian walkway that will connect the hotel grounds to the Magic Kingdom main entrance.

As a refresher, here’s a look back at the permit for the project, showing two bridges and a walkway that will allow guests to bypass the monorail and water transportation to get to Magic Kingdom. This pathway will also mean that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort guests will be able to walk to Magic Kingdom. When completed, all three monorail loop resorts will be able to walk to Magic Kingdom…if you so desire.

Ok, here are some photos taken earlier this afternoon, courtesy of friend of the site @bioreconstruct.

In this first photo looking west, we can see the Magic Kingdom monorail station in the bottom middle of the photo, and the walkway swinging around the Seven Seas Lagoon towards Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Here’s a closer look at the swing bridge that is halfway between Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian.

A wider look shows the swing bridge in the bottom left and a second canal closer to Grand Floridian.

Here’s a closer look at the small canal near Grand Floridian. While the swing bridge we already looked at will open for water traffic, this bridge closer to Grand Floridian will be stationary.

Here’s another overview of the construction work.
