Disney Removes D23 Expo References to Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge Project

Scott Gustin has noticed that Disney has removed references to the Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge project from their D23 Expo announcements. This is another nail in the coffin, so to speak, for the project that we reported is rumored to be canceled.

Friend of the site @bioreconstruct flew over the construction site and photos show very little progress (if any) on the site in the months since construction came to a halt. The cancelation of the project doesn’t come as too much of a surprise though, as Disney has defunded a few projects where construction hasn’t gone vertical, even canceling some of the EPCOT expansion plans.

Disney has not officially announced that the project is canceled, but the quiet removal of the project from official announcements was the same thing they did with the Main Street USA Theater project that never got off the ground.

  1. Can’t say I’m sad. Never thought the design worked in this location. Beautiful hotel…just not here. Since the land has been cleared and at least some infrastructure must be in place we all know that post Covid a resort will rise there. Perhaps a design more in keeping with a sister resort to the Wilderness Lodge . On a smaller scale of course but with a matching look and feel. Blending in with the lake, the woods and appropriate landscaping. Gaston’s Rustic Hunting Lodge might be a better fit.
