Guests looking to spend their vacation at Disney’s Contemporary Resort later this year might be finding a lack of availability starting in April 2021.
While Disney has not announced anything just yet, Vacation Planning Cast Members we spoke with said that Disney’s Contemporary Resort will have very limited availability beginning in April 2021 and that there will be a room refurbishment during that time. The refurbishment is scheduled to last through September 2021.
Of course, it wasn’t that long ago that we spotted a couple of guest rooms gutted to test an Incredibles-themed look. While we were originally receptive to the idea of a mid-century modern look for the rooms, it’s unclear if that retheming gained any traction or not.
Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, work is actively underway to add a Moana flare to the guest rooms at that resort. Disney hasn’t shared concept art or details for the room retheme, but said that the Polynesian Village Resort would be reopening in Summer 2021.

We recently stayed again at the Contemporary and we just hope that they will change their sinks which hasn’t been changed in all of these years. The entire family hates how the sink is flat and rectangular so all the “dirt” or toothpaste etc just gets spread around. Pretty gross!
