Brightline Details Route, Cost of Building Train Line Between MCO and Disney Springs

A new report from the Orlando Sentinel outlines a recent release from Brightline about what is said to be a $1 billion route between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Disney Springs.

As you can see in the image below, Brightline is proposing a route that will run along the 417 through Hunters Creek towards Disney Springs. The route is said to cost $1 billion, but save Brightline an addition $1 billion if they were to take the northern route.

The design concept for the proposed station at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort includes a lobby on the ground level, passenger facilities and an upper level train platform. The proposed location would be in close proximity to Walt Disney World Resort’s four theme parks, two water parks and more than 25 hotels.

Brightline did not give a timeline for the project to be completed.

Disney had previously announced that they will no longer be offering their Magical Express service beginning in 2022.
