Disney Names Baby Zebra in Honor of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary

Disney has announced that the baby Hartmann’s mountain zebra born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has been named after the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. Here’s the announcement:

    Meet Zarina!

The newest Hartmann’s mountain zebra foal at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is now one month old! Keepers chose the name Zarina because it’s Persian for “golden one.” It’s the perfect name for a foal born just after Walt Disney World Resort’s golden anniversary.

Zarina’s got an EARidescent personality, and we can’t wait to watch her shine throughout the 50th anniversary celebration and beyond. Be sure to look for her next time you’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!
