As we turn the page into 2022, we wanted to take a look at the latest construction for some EPCOT projects. We’ve already taken a look at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, but now we’ll take a look at the Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana construction site.
As a quick refresher, here’s the area in question.
Located just southwest of Spaceship Earth, the Journey of Water site will be just inside the monorail beam as seen in the bottom left of the concept art below.
The monorail gives us the best view of the site in our overview photo below.
The site is quite active, with structures rising, plumbing getting installed, and concrete poured.
A deep trench with plumbing is just on the other side of the construction walls.
A rebar-enforced structure is also being constructed.
Elsewhere, a couple of structures are taking shape above ground level.
When completed, the area will be a walkthrough experience where the magic of water will come alive around guests.
