The MagicBand+ is now on sale at Walt Disney World and guests who purchase the device this morning at the theme parks are being asked to complete a day-one update to the device before using any of the interactive features. The update, which lists “bug fixes and overall performance improvements”, takes about 5 minutes and is completed via the My Disney Experience app.
During the initial setup of the MagicBand+, guests are advised that there is an update available for their band and pushed to the update. The MagicBand+ will be continually updated as Disney adds more features and experiences in the future.
During the update, the MagicBand+ will restart. Lights on the center “puck” of the MagicBand+ indicate when the update has been completed.
