Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Construction Underway, Free Samples For Guests

The annual construction of the Grand Floridian gingerbread house is well underway at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The construction takes over a week and consists of an impressive collaboration between Disney’s in-house construction team, Buena Vista Construction Company, and the culinary team at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The gingerbread house consists of:

  • 1,050lbs of honey
  • 140 pints of egg whites
  • 600lbs of powdered sugar
  • 700lbs of choocolate
  • 800lbs of flour
  • 35lbs of spices
  • Tons of creativity
  • Disney Magic and Pixie Dust!

Here’s a look at the construction and application of gingerbread shingles, which has drawn quite a crowd this morning!

Guests were even offered some samples of the gingerbread singles used to build the gingerbread house!
