The five Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board Members have been officially confirmed by the Florida Senate following their appointment by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The five-member board will serve multi-year terms as follows:

  • Martin Garcia (board chair): 2/26/2027
  • Michael Sasso (vice chair): 2/26/2027
  • Brian Aungst: 2/26/2027
  • Bridget Ziegler: 2/26/2025
  • Ronald Peri: 2/26/2025

The Board of Supervisors is currently being sued in federal court by Walt Disney Parks & Resorts for declaring a Development Agreement void. DeSantis is also being sued in the same lawsuit.

Following Disney World’s lawsuit, the District sued Disney in state court, asking the judge to declare their voiding of the contract as valid.

The confirmation of the Board comes at the end of the current legislative session where Florida lawmakers also took on the Development Agreement with narrowly written language that nullifies the contract with Disney. In this session, Lawmakers also introduced a state takeover of Disney World monorail system inspections.
